Welcome to Mayo Connect, the anxiety your feel is normal when concern about possible breast cancer.
The MRI should give you some answers.

I hope your sisters can give you some support seeing they have been in same situation.

Do you have a follow up appointment scheduled to discuss results?

Any changes in your breast should be noted and make an appointment with you Dr ASAP. Those are suspicious findings and I would have checked out.

When making your appointment impress upon the dr all the relatives you have that have had a cancer (any cancer) but in particular breast cancer. I'm the first in my family to have BC; but my dad had early colon cancer and I had early ovarian cancer (in my 30's) and was dx with BC at 68. Turns out I am BRCA2+; I'd thought I'd passed the chance for any cancer dx - boy was I wrong. I've completed all treatment about 1 year ago and doing well. But it was a stressful 18 months getting approvals and all my treatments completed (chemo, surgery and radiation).

My Dr appointment is the 26th but it doesn't say follow up appointment I thought I would get a phone call for results

The waiting is the worst. I'm so sorry. Is there anything you like to do that you can treat yourself to? I love the beach. Spent a lot of time there when I was going through the waiting game. That and organizing - all of my closets have been done a couple of times.

I had a similar situation with a long wait time for my biopsy results. The lab here ended up sending it to Mayo for a 2nd opinion, so that is what took so long. That could be a possibility as to why you haven’t heard yet. I had to call and ask the status and was finally told it had been sent out. If you don’t hear tomorrow, maybe call and ask what is happening. The waiting is definitely a horrible feeling! Prayers that everything comes back ok!
