Anyone else suffering arthritis in their feet? OUCH!

I suffer from arthritis in my feet along with Pes Cavus (really high arches considered a deformity). I have gotten BMAC stem cell therapy which only lasted a few weeks. Steroid shots. Physical therapy. And acupuncture and several rounds of an herb concoction that mixes with water. Additionally I apply ice packs and occasionally heat packs. All give temporary relief. I cannot take Celebrex, Advil or Aleve. I do not have rheumatoid arthritis. Any long term solutions?

The RA pain in my right foot and big toe this last week has been terrible. I have had problems walking because of it. My rheumatologist who is so to the point and no nonsense told me she would not treat my pain only the inflammation, l did talk to my primary about it. I have Chronic Kidney Disease so NSAIDS have to be limited. He did put me on a short course of Prednisone for 5 days. It has helped although my big toe is still sore and the Prednisone makes me hungry all the time and l had a terrible hot flash.
I guess you just have to weigh the good against the bad and roll with it. I was only diagnosed a little over a year ago and this was my first flare.

Yikes. I hope we both find good paths forward.

I do have RA etc in feet. A broken toe ( bone within pad of left foot) has. Never completely healed. And other bones of toe that ‘go their own way’ hurt in shoes etc I use Voltaren cream or live with it. See a pain Dr however for better specific help .

Hi.
I hope you find your path to better pain level.
Do you have clearance to exercise, and do you do some level of it?
My suggestion would be to engage in some program which won't create pain, except the expected soreness, to build muscle (even in the feet). If you have access to Silver Sneakers or even a pool, getting into a less that full gravity environment may be helpful. You can use a floatation device (pool noodle) if you don't want any weight on your feet but you should be comfortable in the pool setting.
Best!

Thank you. I do pool work including swimming 2-4 times weekly. It helps a lot.

I just went to Ross Store and they have the Hoka tennis shoes for $89.99....a far cry from $150 on up at other stores online. They are so comfortable. I may just go back and purchase a pair. They have a good arch support, heal support & ball of the foot support. They seem true to size.

The Hey Dudes just didn't work for me...not enough support...BUT, I could put my orthotics in them.

Brooks Ghosts tennis shoes are also a good shoe. I know someone that works in the hospital that wears this instead of the Danscos.

Have a blessed day everyone!

I hope this info. helps someone.

I have had foot arthritis for over 40 years. I have been wearing a couple different brands of trail running shoes. I find them to be more cushioned than regular running or walking shoes. My favorite feature with them is the gripping tread makes it easier to feel stable on grassy or sloped surfaces. I have Reebok, Columbia and New Balance shoes.

Thank you. That’s helpful information.

I already had one toe joint replaced because of arthritis. I agree it can be extremely painful. Wear shoes that are very wide and highly cushioned. Good luck dear.

Ugly shoes are the answer!

I used to wear heels to work. In April of 2018, I noticed the plantar fasciitis and stopped wearing heels.

Orthotic footwear. Everything must have adequate support and cushioning. No pinched toe boxes.

It helped immensely. I Don't get foot pain or that awful collapsing pain and sensation very often now.

Brooks trainers are the bomb. Best shoes I've found for support.
