Was just put on Ozempic for diabetes, weight is not an issue.

Been a 'gestational' diabetic for over 25 years. Was on insulin, then pills now Ozempic and pills. Female, 76 and my weight is not an issue. Three weeks have passed, no side effects so far. Has anyone experience to share. Thank you

I've had type 2 for 26 years. Controlled with diet and exercise the first 11, then added oral meds the second 11, and insulin only for the last couple of years. I did quite a bit of research before starting insulin, and it appeared to me that Mounjaro would be my second choice after insulin, because it (from what I read) helped control both blood sugar and weight, whereas Ozempic only helped control weight. I chose insulin for two reasons: At 81, I'm sort of a "traditionalist", having seen various new meds come and go, and also I didn't like seeing the shortages occurring with Mounjaro.
I'm glad to hear you're not having side effects from the Ozempic. Have your blood sugar levels improved on it? Why did you switch from insulin, and what diabetes meds are you taking along with it?

@pmcallister For diabetics, the dose for Ozempic is 1mg weekly, and for those who want to lose weight is 2mg weekly, whether you are a type 2 diabetic or not. Regardless, beware there are serious side effects like constipation associated with Ozempic. On the positive side, it is a good drug and endocrinologists do not want you to take more than 1mg weekly.

I was removed from insulin while recovering from reoccurring pneumonia episodes. Started to have seizures but OK after everything settled down. Was switched to pills, Jardiance, Metphorman and Sitagliptin Malat. After last 5 yrs no MD, past 6 months now have a local Family MD and diabetic nurse. Sugars average 10mmol/L and have peaked to 22. Now take Methorphan 1000mg daily, started Ozemic 3 weeks ago, 0.25 mg and after 4th week go to .5mg. Too early for blood work but sugars seam the same so far but not peaking too high above 10mmol/L. Feeling OK
Take care, and thank you kindly.

I was on Ozempic. I hardly ate, became anorexic, vomited all the time. they would reduce my dosage and the same thing happened. Instead of taking me off of it they didn’t. I finally stopped taking it. It masked all my cancer symptoms.

Has anyone been on Gemzar and Paciltrcal?

Why is'nt there a natural remedy for diabetes? and has anyone try Dr Barbara O'Neil 's recommendations? I just don't want to be a guinea Pig for the Pharmaceutical Industties and some Doctors.

@pmcallister. i was on Ozempic for about 3-4 months. Ozempic dosage is 0.25mg for 4 weeks at one shot a week. then you increase to 0.5mg shots. there are NO higher dosages. you stay on that dosage as to keep your glucose under control.
NOW with ALL that said. i hope you have NEVER had Pancreatitis. which is very bad. i did. caused by my Gallbladder going bad and damaging part of my pancreas. plus i had Gastroparesis. which is a slowing down of the function of the stomach.
NOW with taking Ozempic and having said issues it was very bad. i ended up in the hospital for a week to have my stomach pumped out. and then given time to heal. i was taken off of Ozempic. which was a bad med to be on when you have these said medical issues. a bad combination. the only other diabetic med i was and still am on is Jardiance 10 mg. per day. @danny5

I was on Ozempic and it was terrible. Constant vomiting, gastroaresis, but my endocrinologist said to look for symptoms on the left. Not the left on my right. Was basically in .05 by was given 1. It has caused a lot of issues but she wouldn’t change. I went in thinking I had a gallstone. I know that there are good benefits for the drug, but there is a lot of problems coming p from this medicine.
