What Keytruda side effects did you have (after chemo)?
I finish six months of chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy reconstruction. Thank God, I am cancer free! I will be on Keytruda for one year, every six weeks. I didn’t have any side effects during chemo. Just wondering of the side effects of Keytruda. Thank you!

Congrats on being cancer free!
My oncologist had me on a pretty close regime to what you have gone through, 6 months of chemo, double mastectomy (mid June) although the reconstruction was delayed a few weeks (end of June). I had been taking the keytruda while on the chemo, but during surgery they stopped giving it to me and I just started again last week . I have not had any side effects so far from it, knock on wood, I do take a probiotic supplement but other then that I haven't changed much. I have 8 treatments left, and they are 3 weeks apart :).
While the chemo did not knock the cancer out, the mastectomy did and I also got the all clear 🙂
Congrats! I was on Keytruda for a year as part of my treatment, as part of a clinical trial for Merrick to get approved for my stage of TNBC.
I developed immune-mediated thyroiditis. Basically, I didn't have any thyroid symptoms except we could see the levels change during blood work, and at the right moment we worked with an endocrinologist to get on thyroid meds.
It was a side effect I knew about but was definitely okay with given the limited arsenal we have for TN. I'm also on another medication that would slowly have burnt out my thyroid, so having it burn out fast with zero thyroiditis side effects was okay by me.
Thank goodness for being cancer free! Congratulations! I had it during chemo as well and didn’t have any side effects but wasn’t sure about when it is given solo. Thank you and praying for your continued good health!
Thank you! I’m glad it helped you but sorry about the thyroid problems. Praying for good health for you!
