Reading about your dog smiling and jumping for joy just brought me joy. So vivid. I love dogs!

I lost my favorite ever dog about 5 years ago at 16. She was so funny and loving that just looking at her picture on my screensaver brings me joy. My son had a stuffed clone of her custom made for me and it looks so real it brings me joy! I like to set it in the middle of the room when someone new visits and wait to see how long it takes them to notice she’s not moving. Bwahahaha One person even asked if it was taxidermy. Of course not! So real looking! Best present ever that brings real joy!

Sorry about your dog. It's really painful losing them. I still think back on some of the dogs I've had in the past. They all have some common behaviors but then their own individual quirks and personalities.

In addition to the dog I walk every day (a 3 year old), I also have a 16 year old dog who went blind about four years ago. I asked the vet if she could have quality of life and he said "absolutely, just make sure her food and water are always in the same place" and sure enough, she gets around the house just fine and no longer bumps into anything. She doesn't go on our long walks, though, but does spend an hour or so every day sniffing around the yard. She literally sleeps 20 hours a day. I know her time is probably short so I try to make sure she gets a lot of love each day.
