Hello Bud,

Zoom recordings are available for only 90 days, and each recording has its own Zoom link. We had technical issues in July, so there is no July recording. The June recording should still be available. If anyone has asked for June, let me know and I will find the link for you to share with those who asked.

Thanks,
Dick

Dear PCa Support Group members:

What is a PARP inhibitor, and how is it used to treat prostate cancer? Come to our next support group meeting to find out! Our meeting will be held at noon Wednesday September 11 in Baldwin 1-507.

Our speaker will be Jacob Orme, MD, PhD, a Mayo genitourinary medical oncologist who works in both the clinic and the laboratory to improve cancer care. Dr. Orme discovered a novel biomarker "switch" in advanced highly-resistant prostate cancers. These discoveries have led to the development of multiple new experimental therapeutics and clinical trials. Dr. Orme has received awards from Mayo Clinic, the Minnesota Society of Clinical Oncology, the National Institutes of Health, and the Prostate Cancer Foundation to support his work.

The title of his talk is "PARP Inhibitors for Treatment of Prostate Cancer ." If you are unable to attend in person, please join via Zoom using the following link:

Subject: Christmas Luncheon

Dear Support Group members,

Mark Ganz who represents Dendreon Pharmaceuticals (Provenge - immunotherapy for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer) is sponsoring our Christmas Luncheon this year. Member George Allen is hosting the luncheon at Edwards Hall, Charter House on Wednesday, December 4. We hope you can attend.

The menu is similar to past years, fix your own Croissant and Salad Bar, Soup of the day, Fresh fruit, assorted bars and cookies; Regular and Decaf Coffee and Bottled Water. The meal begins at noon, but if you show up a few minutes early, they may be ready for us. The meal will be followed by a short program.

Please let me know no later than November 25 if you plan to attend and if you are bringing a guest. Catering needs a head count by the end of that day.

If you grew a moustache for Movember, please keep it through December 4 to help us recognize Men's Health Month.

Also, note that we will not have a regular meeting the 2nd Wednesday in December.

I hope to see you at the luncheon.

Dick
