Pain in right buttock

Posted by mikaylar @mikaylar, Jul 19 8:30am

This feels like a knife stabbing me and I can hardly walk. Ice or heat seems to work for 5-10 minutes. I cannot sleep or get comfortable. Have to wait until next week for doc appt. Anyone have this?

I also had pain in right buttock that was misdiagnosed as sciatica. After almost a year, I went to a neurologist who ordered a pelvic MRI and discovered I had a chordoma which is a rare tumor on the lower spine. A biopsy confirmed it was cancerous. Don't wait, get an MRI of the pelvis.

The pain I had in January was in the buttock region and it extended down into my groin. I had trouble rolling over in bed and twisting my hips. I had a urinalysis and found out I had a urinary tract infection. I was prescribed antibiotics and inflammatory meds. The severe pain has decreased, but there is still pain in both buttocks. I am scheduled for a shot in both pelvic areas this week to determine if the shots will relieve the pain. If successful another type of shot will be used to give me a longer period of relief

@acmuceus I'm sorry to hear about your husband's spine condition, and I hope he will have a solution in the future. Does he have osteoporosis? Bone density and quality is always a consideration when spine surgery is considered. Has your husband been seen by an expert for bone quality such as an endocrinologist?

no he has not seen an endocrinologist , but we should definitely check on his osteoporosis before surgery, we will ask the question after the Dr looks at the 2 X-rays he ordered .
thank you for your input
