Long term effects AFTER withdrawing from Effexor

I was on this drug for 16 years for fatigue. Had no trouble going off of it and figuring out the reason for the fatigue and correcting it. But now I have continuing feelings of despair. This is so unusual for me to not be able to pull myself up and have a nice life. I do not want to go on any more brain meds because this one was what started my downward spiral in the first place. I keep trying to do what I believe is the best way to more forward but still have terribly sad feelings. My interest in life is waning. I feel hopeless. Any ideas as to what I could do to feel better? Thanks.

Hi Chris. Want you to know I really connect with what you’ve written here. My story is a somewhat different but I would say kudos for managing to come off your meds as well as you have. As for sadness and what you’re feeling, you are far from alone. Living has gotten it seems ever more complex. Nature and walking/hiking have been my go to solution but with weather and heat issues it gets harder to get outdoors. I do believe connection and community is so important. I could go on here as I seek this to but I dearly hope you find what’s needed to carry on. Thank you for posting.
