Hey there! I am doing good! I think I’m back to normal…I feel like it. The only thing now though is that you’re always hoping it doesn't come back. I have had 2 CT’s so far. Still clear, Thank God! I have only had the VATS surgery. No chemo or radiation. The first week after was okay. Then just better and stronger little by little. Got tired if I pushed too hard, and you will surely feel it if you lift too much, reach too far, etc. They gave me Lyrica after surgery, as well as Hydromorphone, 800 mg Ibuprofen, Robaxin and Gabapentin and Tylenol. I stopped everything but the Lyrica and Ibuprofen after a few days of being home. Lyrica was about 3 weeks because you have to wean off not just stop it. Walking is your best friend before and definitely after surgery. You have to start out little by little afterward, but I walked around the house, then around the drive way and then a block and back and then Few more blocks, etc. I worked right back to where I was and now I walk about 5 miles a day. I can breathe, ride a bike, dig holes lift cases of water, 5 gallon water jugs… you get my point. I also used a lung exerciser before my surgery to strengthen my lungs. The one swimmers use. Amazon has them for a few dollars. Very simple and easy to use. Keep in touch!

Thanks Cindy! I was wondering how long the average stay was, drugs used for pain etc. I can't take Lyrica or Ibupropen. Don't know the other drugs. I am afraid of becoming dependent on opiods and do not want that! When you say you had to learn to get out of bed earilier, I guess that is because of the pain or are we not supposed to move a certain way after--and you mentioned no lying flat. Again, is that because of pain or a certain way to avoid something. I don't feel like my oncologist or pulmonolgist are very good at telling me things. And now all I have left is the surgeon before surgery and want to make sure I ask good questions. You guys help so much! How soon after surgery do they have you up and walking? Is there any respiratory, PT you went through? thanks and so glad your scans are coming back clear!!! Julie

For what its worth, I've bought two homes remotely, giving realtor or a friend a power of attorney limited to that transaction. The closing attorney collected it after closing, made himself a copy for documentation only and destroyed the original.
Talk to your realtor…
