After my 2nd PRRT treatment I started having out of control erratic BP and Pulse also Heart skipping beats. I can’t touch my head or temples without pain it feels like my head is in a vise grip
I also did MRI of abdomen and pelvis tumors are still growing and multiplying
Has anyone else had this happen

My wife completed 4 cycles of PRRT with not many issues. She did feel sluggish and nauseated after 2nd one. What help is your medical team given you?

I see my NET oncologist tomorrow
So far the NET team gave me a NET cardiologist to see but unfortunately my appointment isn till the end of August
So my PC/cardiologist has been doing his best to NET educate himself and give me his cell phone number
I keep getting EKGs that are perfect
My cardiologist changed my beta blocker on 7/20 and so far so good
I do my 3rd PRRT treatment on 7/24
I hope it isn’t like these last 8 weeks
Thank you for replying

My husband completed his 4th PRRT treatment 7 weeks ago. He has been very tired this time but the heat hasn’t helped. We go for scans August 4th and see oncologist August 5th. Fingers crossed.

Thank you everyone for all your support
I saw my NET oncologist today he canceled my 3rd PRRT which was suppose to be 7/24
He informed me that PRRT causes inflammation and since my cancer has already metastasized to my C1 I found that information today ( I was aware that it had Metastasized to my T1 and my L10 ) that is what is giving me my head pain
So I have to do a MRI of my cervical spine and my head and a PET scan to see what is going on before I do another treatment
I will keep you all posted
Again thank you

I have metastatic disease throughout the spine and when mri has observed growth they usually have performed cyberknife radiation. Everything is pretty stable so good thing. Didn’t know there is a “L10”? There’s only 5 vertebrae in the lumbar spine.
Anyway Good Luck!

My son was stage 3 when diagnosed. He went thru an unsuccessful whipple procedure because of blood vessels wrapping. He then took 4 round of PRRT and his pNet shrank to 2.8 cm.
Then he was on Lanreotide. After 2 rounds of Lanreotide, his tumor shrank to 1.9 cm.

His oncologist recommends "sbrt" apply radiation to the pancreas tumor. Does anyone have any experience of SBRT on pancreas tumor? My concern is the amount of radiation in such a short period.

@kwan: I would be overjoyed at the outcome that this radiation has done to reduce progression!!! Hopefully it will add quality of life for your son. It is true that we accumulate radiation exposure, including sun rays; however, Nuclear Medicine and Radiologists have many new tools that offer cancer patients hope and better days ahead. I believe we as cancer patients alway need to weigh the “risks” with “potential results” when we choose cancer treatment.
I wish best of life to your son.

@dbamos1945 Thank you very much for your words of consolation. As this is a rare disease, there may not be a lot of data to support this SBRT treatment. Hope our son will be lucky to benefit.
Good luck to all of us.
