@contentandwell Yes, Linsinopril is a BP med. There are times my trying to be compliant is NOT in my best interest. The opthamologist changed my eye drops as they were not playing well with the BP prescribed by primary. I am disappointed that the primary was not more observant as the eye drops were listed. It is still up to the patient to pay attention as the sharing of info sounds good in theory but it is still up to the patient to ask the pharmacist who likely shudders at some of the conflicts in prescribing. They can only follow the doctor’s orders 😉 We are all doing the best we know how or best we can. Will address the BP med on Tuesday. Did go back to cutting it into fourths so see how it goes.

I was unable to take the lisenopril type meds.(ACE Inhibitors). My doctor changed me to ACE Blockers instead. I take Valsartin now, which works great for me with no apparent side effects. You can ask your doctor to try that for you. However, if you take it, be careful that your pharmacy uses pharma companies that compound it correctly. Some companies have accidentally produced a cancer causing side effect in their versions of the drug. You can research that online. I have tried many different drugs that I couldn't stand for BP.

Have you considered getting a DNA test to determine which drugs are compatible for you? Especially since you are so sensitive to drugs, I think that's something you could ask for from your doctor. I hope you can find the appropriate medication that works. I also hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Parus.

BTW, my painting is coming along and I'm loving it. I find the art class to be distracting as there are so many people socializing there. I still go for the social aspects, but I'm finding it much easier to work at home. I'm currently working on my third painting which is of my husband. We'll see how it comes out. I don't like my first painting, which remains incomplete. I'll work on it more later. I'm happy with my second piece which also needs more work, and I'm enjoying working on the current one of my husband. I can't post photos yet as none are finished. LOL

@parus I am so surprised that a BP medicine would the type of problems you are having.

I agree, we do need to be as informed and knowledgeable as we can be about our conditions and medications. Unfortunately some doctors and NPs would prefer that patients remain Unknowledgeable. I had an NP tell me to stop my habit of googling!

I hope you are able to switch to a different medication easily. When I had the coughing problem my PCP switched me that same day with no negative affects.
