Hi @edonta9112 I’ve been really fortunate over the years to have some outstanding male doctors who have quite literally saved my life. My first ob-gyn was also male and he was great for my early years. As I aged and became menopausal, he and I were totally on a different page!
He couldn’t relate at all to what I was telling him and was pretty patronizing…which really ticked me off. We finally parted ways when he insisted on HRT. I said that I’d need to think about it because my mother developed ovarian cancer due to be on HRT for 20+ years and I wanted more information. He told me if I didn’t do what he suggested then I’m no longer welcome as a patient. Not a problem…he and I were in agreement there! LOL. I’ve had a much better experience with a female gynecologist on so many levels! At least she can relate to what I’m explaining in our conversations. I hope you have a better luck with your new doctor.
If you wouldn’t mind, would you please let me know what you find out about your symptoms?
