Muscle pulling from belly button to stoma scar site down to groin
Hi there. I had a stoma reversal last August and the area between my belly button to my stoma scar was always tight after the reversal and January this year I felt like I pulled the area by getting out of bed or going to the toilet and it hasn't been the same since. Having bloating hasn't helped because it pushes against where I get sore in that area. I went down to Brisbane about 5 weeks ago and they done investigation works colonoscopy, endoscopy and laproscopy to see if they could work out what was going on. They removed an undissolved stitch and some adhesions during the laproscopy but couldn't give me an reason why I had soreness and discomfort between the belly button to stoma scar. it's been worse since then and I had the flu a couple of weeks ago and with the coughing etc it has made the area even more painful now and I get pulling as well from the belly button to stoma scar down to my groin. I went and had scans done at the hospital on Monday and they couldn't pick up any hernias or bowel blockages in the scans. Just sent me away with Painkillers. I am just wondering if anyone in your group have a similar case after having a stoma reversal? To me it feels like the muscle is pulling and there is still internal stitches they can't remove, so maybe that's hitting some nerves which is causing the pains. I am 41 yrs old and feel like I am disabled because of this 😔 thanks for reading

Abdominal adhesions are bands of scar tissue that form between organs and tissues in the abdomen. They can occur after abdominal surgery or due to inflammation. These internal scars can cause organs to stick together, leading to complications like small bowel obstruction or chronic pain¹². Most adhesions don't cause symptoms, but if you experience severe abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, nausea, or vomiting, seek immediate medical attention¹. Remember, your health is precious, and it's essential to stay informed and take care of your well-being! 😊🌟

@suzigardner, I hope you saw that helpful reply from @roywalton. Have things improved at all? Any answers?
This was the sensation I got when I had my hernias. I had four open abdominal surgeries and one laporoscpic in six month time period. I developed an incisional hernia, a large ventral hernia and diastasis recti. The ventral hernia was very visible. But the other ones never showed up on scans. Often times they don’t. I ended up having abdominal reconstruction in 2021
