Did you try turning off Bluetooth on your phone? The hearing aid app uses Bluetooth. If the hearing aids died the Bluetooth may not have disconnected.

Bluetooth is not always user friendly. I am testing Horizon now and my audiologist said, because I have an android phone, it’s probably not worth the bother to to disconnect my phone to then connect to my IPad that I use to stream TV.
