debhammel - Could you clarify how you weren't able to taper off Budesonide? Was it because symptoms returned? You said third attempt, did you go through to the end of the 3 months. The best I felt was the first 30 days (9 mg--3 caps/days) but I don't think it's possible to stay on that level. It was great--energy, no issues with BM, etc.)

Yes - on the first taper diarrhea returned after 5 days on 3 mg, although I really didn’t feel good while on 6 mg. The second time, I flared two weeks into being on 6 mg. This time, I was on 12 mg a full 3 months, then on 6 mg for 2.5 months and was on 3 mg with 1 Imodium at night from 6/16/24 but just didn’t feel good. My doctor suggested alternating days with 6 mg and 3 mg beginning July 1. Two weeks in and no diarrhea but my gut doesn’t always feel normal - somewhat achy and gassy. I’ll be contacting my Gastroenterologist on Monday to see what she thinks. We had considered putting me back on 6 mg on July 1 but I wanted to try alternating doses.
