I had the same issues. Im male, I did 10 days doxy for chlamydia and the symptoms came back 4 days later, they told me I had prostatitis. I was given 28 days doxy almost all symptoms went away. 3 days later most symptoms returned. Burning, pain and discharge. I went to a new doctor and was testing for EVERYTHING. I mean everything imaginable, all negative. We came to the conclusion that doxy itself is an anti inflammatory and when you go off it the immune system rebounds with cyyokines, which, were being suppressed. Also, I developed all kinds of food sensitivities, dairy, tomotoes, alcohol burnt me up. Felt like full blown uti/prostatitis. I started taking advil and went zero carb. Let the foxy get totally out of my system and started introducing probiotics slowly. I noticed the more I stank the better I felt hahah. I was cured but my body was still in inflammation mode. Its tough to power through that!
