Hi, I'm 28. Was just Dx with Intestinal Metaplasia on Friday. Shocking to me as I'm not overweight, don't smoke or drink but of course I have a family history/genetic fsctorso -- my grandma died from H. pylori. Funny enough I'm negative for it. Also had a polyp removed that they said would have turned to cancer had it not been removed. My GI dr said I'm "high risk" but I'm fine. He told me to tale Zantac 2x day. Still lots of burning in my stomach going on. Researched and no articles say Zantac reverses or helps IM. Looking for advice, diet help, anything? Feeling a bit nervous and confused.

Hello @trosegold,

My sincere apologies for the delay in replying but I'd like to extend a warm welcome, and thank you for joining Connect. I'd like to introduce you to @kinmeta @travelgirl @ikie @yyyy who have all posted about similar issues; @saucy @doron have talked about diet, and may be able to share their experiences, and offer some insight.

@doron @dandl48 @nanny23 have also posted about Zantac and other PPIs, and I hope they will join us with more information.

@vdouglas, do you have any advice with regard to diet or other steps that might help? @trosegold, have you considered asking your doctor for alternatives to Zantac? How are you managing your diet, at present?
