Will shoe insoles help alleviate discomfort?
I'm wondering if shoe insoles will help with the discomfort of neuropathy. I'm willing to try anything to stay mobile with less pain

I had a digital scan of feet inserts
made and fitted to othofeet sneaker which it turns out the tonge is stitched to top of shoe so laces are very difficult to loosen which is key to stopping pressure on top of foot. hence they are too tight .... UgH. I will wear for a few hours then must change to crocs with Dr. sholls inserts and then get off feet for 30minutes.
im tempted to go to sketchers and get a sneaker with wide toe box.
Anyone used sketchers????
The more room in the toe area helps me. I use gel inserts. It helps but I don't think it's the answer.
PN can cause allodynia, which is a misperception of sensory stimuli by the brain (like pressure causing burning). I have found that shearling shoe linings (like Ugg) help to prevent a sense of burning when wearing shoes. I have even purchased shearling insoles from them to replace the insoles on shoes and even flip flops.
Hope this helps.
That's one my symptoms.. burning mostly around the toes. I'll give it a try. Thanks
Birkenstock makes the Arizona with shearling lining.
Thanks. I will look them up.
I wear Skechers a lot and they are always comfortable. They have more room around the toe box. I even have booties for winter. They are lined with a soft furry fabric, and I wear them without socks - they feel great.
I wore Skechers for years. Now that I discover Asics Gel ninbus 26 the skechers seem hard.

That is good news for you. I need toe room to alleviate burning and tingling. I bought some different shoes. It makes a difference. Thanks
Although more expensive try Nike Fly Away - a terrific step in shoe
