Useful items and links for people with fractures
I wanted to start a thread for people to share things they've used that helped them through fractures caused by osteoporosis.
People have responded to another post that the following have been helpful to them. I thought it might be good to have one place where people can easily find this info.
1. Video "Brick House Bones" - safe exercises for osteoporosis
2. Tai Chi and Yoga
3. Margaret Martin melioguide.com - class on movements with fractures (cost $89) and she has a book and videos online
4. Long-handled grabbers in different rooms
5. Garden kneelers - I ordered this one and will report back of my husband (who has 3 fractures and can't bend) finds it useful:

I look forward to seeing what others have used that have worked to make their lives easier.

I don't stay in one place long enough for that type of kneeler to be practical. Stand up, move it a few feet, kneel, repeat, repeat... And trying to place it so plants are not damaged.
@isabelle7 his spine is the only big concern and -3.3 isn't terrible. Does prednisone affect bone quality? Forteo and Tymlos are good with spine. He must have made an unlucky move but the next fracture is a mystery!

We’ve been thinking the same. And it would be heavier than what my husband can lift for now so I’d have to move it around for him. We might skip it at least for now.
@windyshores
That’s why all this has been such a mystery to me. His numbers aren’t great but I’ve seen worse in here. And yet he’s fracturing doing minor things which is weird. Maybe it has something to do with the prednisone. I can’t wait for him to start Forteo in a week.
