My cousin has been following three or four times a week. She has weakness in her left leg which we assumed it was brought on from a previous sciatic nerve surgery and the surgeon nicked his sciatic nerve. She refused any further surgery regarding this. That was six years ago she has Declined since that time by falling frequently. The doctors have center to PT which job for a little bit and now she’s back to following three or four times a day I made up a week. What test should be performed to see what damage has been done to that leg? She does say that before she falls her legs start shaking and so she knows she’s going to fall but can’t avoid it. She has a walker she has a scooter all those things but like today all she was doing was reaching down to pick something up and fell Doctors don’t seem to be interested in running any further test for some reason and see what is going on or if there’s nerve damage and that lady or neuropathy is something that’s causing your falls

@cleopatra2548 l have also been falling since 1997 but the doctors really can't figure out why. I fell and torn my ACLU and knocked over mannequin, talking pictures with my family, getting our of bed to go to the bathroom and one time l fell and had to get three root canals. I been to rehab inpatient and outpatient. I fell in stores and just last week l fell at the doctors office. They were really terrified and l had to go to the hospital. I was admitted for 4days and they thought l was depressed because my mother just passed. I told them l am not depressed she was 94 and she couldn't walk, had to have help to be fed and having Alzheimer's is not the way she wanted to live and she was tired. And when you know she is in heaven and has no more pain. I am happy she doesn't have to suffer anymore that doesn't say l won't miss her but l know she is happy now. So the doctor thought l was definitely crazy. But my falling is due to my HE so l just have to pray and keep hydrated and watch my ammonia levels. I suggest you should try and gather z lifeline for hat will help if you are alone. I have one and l wea ft it when l am home alone or go OP it by myself. And l wear it or put it my purse when l go to church because l even fell there too. It's hard because you never know when it will happen. I never knew l would have so many orthopedic doctor friends. I tell them l need to get stock in there hospital
They laugh but l am serious. See if you can get a service dog also. It might help you they are expensive but some places say if you have a fundraiser for them it will go towards the cost of the dogs. I have a dog but she hasn't been trained to be a service dog but since l.kept falling in the house she follows me everywhere as nd they are definitely good company. And its neuropathy try some compression stocking. Make sure everything is clear of any items when you walk. And if you have carpet in your house make sure its stuck down firmly. I have hardwood but l will be putting carpet in my bedrooms. And l have tile in my kitchen in bathrooms so l have to see what you can get for those rooms. And also you might need a helmet to protect your head. God bless you!!!

Tecky, you are so funny. I agree the falling is not a joke but the circumstances that led to the fall can be serious. I have the stockings and must remember to put them on each day. I don't have the lifeline thingee. Must get one I had shots in my neck and back in the last two weeks. This next Monday I go back for shots in my neck again. If the shots do not work, I will not do surgery. It is out of the questions. Everytime I say that I end up in Surgery. But, for my back, I mean it. I would rather hurt than never walk again. Check out your heart...as soon as you can.
