Has anyone tried Scrambler Therapy for neuropathy or for pain?

Posted by wisfloj @wisfloj, May 23, 2019

I have read about this device and I’m hoping someone can attest to its effectiveness for idiopathic neuropathy. I've read success stories and information online. Apparently insurance does not cover treatments, to the tune of $250 for the customary recommended 10 consecutive weekdays.

My SCS device has replaced growing need for gabapentine.
knocked out 4 pills a day.
Sometimes night breakthru pain but all day I have no intense burning Shoes an issue Wear sandals with socks
Need to charge battery for device once a day if possible Charge takes about 15 min Holds OK for 2 days or 3. Longer need to charge if days skipped. Not all persons get same relief level. Neuro surgeons and Neuro pain clinics can provide details. UPenn neuro pain specialists did extensive pre testing to persons w neuropathy Lidocaine in early evening helps as well. Do gentle foot movement for circulation during day and evening to combat siting too long to keep circulation going .

I was thinking about giving it a shot, but I am in Florida and the only place I found charges $400 per treatment.
Where are you located that it is 250,00?

I had an introductory session with a Chiro in Chandler AZ. ( if you search for Scrambler Therapy in Chandler AZ and my Chiro should pop up. $100 for into session and evaluation and $250 per visit for 10 session (2 week) He said I could pay as I went along with each visit or pay up front and reduce the cost to -If I recall correctly $2000.

This seems to be the pricing I have seen else where. Also search for Calamare -- it a different marketing name for the same treatment.

I though I had some benefit. I left AZ for the summer and have not found this program up here in Montana. Consequntly (because I also have back pain and can't get an appointment with an MD until August 9th, I have been going to a Chiro who treats neuropathy with (1) Rebuilder 2407 to stimulate and repair damaged nerves; (2) a Red light unit [ LZR ULTRA BRIGHT]; (3) Foot vibration (and in the office a full body vibrator you stand on, (4) supplements: N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine [600 mg]; Alpha Lipoic Acid + Acetyl- Carnitine, Omega +D Sufficiency [Trglyceride Omega - 3 Fish Oil, Alaskan Cod Liver Oil, and Vitamin D3, FNx Circulation Cardio Support [the Original a"L-Arginine Complete], ZAN-MAG Magnesium [Citrate & Magnesium Malate] (5) Shockwave therapy. You purchase the equipment in sections (1) through (4) for home use as a part of the twice weekly one hour office visits. I negotiated a right to opt out at mid point and not pay a second installment of $3,800. I am trying to figure our if I should quit and just do the home therapy and then go back to the Chandler AZ Scrambler Therapy Chiro or find an MD who does Calmare and can be paid via my insurance. The rebbuilding of nerves sound great but I am uncertain as to whether the treatment is working?

My purpose in identifying this treatment is to receive feed back from you as a reader as to whether or not this Treatment or any part of it, works or any merit?

Are you looking in the Bonita Springs area?

I am communicating with an MD [neurologist] in Phoenix on McDowell Road who does Calmare Therapy (that is just another name for Scrambler Therapy) . Wants $350 or $450 for evaluation (which may be covered by Insurance) and has a special at $200 for each treatment (normally $350 which is too expensive)

It’s now August 2024. I just recently discovered a chiropractic practice in Marlton NJ using Scrambler Therapy for $450/ session for 10 sessions! So expensive! I too am trying to locate people who can attest to its success before I invest that much.

Did you decide to try this device and if so, did it help you? Was it worth the cost to get relief?
