PRP (platelet rich plasma) injection?

@gardeningjunkie

I had PRP injections in both knees on May 16, that was 8 weeks ago. Cost 1,700.
I don't notice any major improvement. Perhaps less ache and pain laying in bed at night. Ocassionally I can walk 1/2 of my house stairs normally instead of taking one step at a time. I still need the hand rail to pull on.
The orthopedist says not to consider this a failure until 3 months, because it takes that long for the platletts to be absorbed and heal.
My main problem with my knees is getting off the ground and in that regard I notice no improvement, it still hurts terribly and without something to pull up on it's almost impossible.
Disappointed yes, but I had to try because even though I qualify for Medicare to pay for both knees to be replaced, because of my allergies my body would reject any implant on the market.
If I don't have some noticeable improvement in the next month I will not do this again.

I have a bad knee mostly in the patella. I get PRP injections but it does take time. I also make sure to build up the muscles of the knee to help support it. I also eat Bitter Melon which has shown to help with pain. I have had too many family and friends still suffer with knee pain after a replacement.
