Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain?
Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain? I've had 2 doctors push this on me. I know that the side effects can be terrible and getting off of it difficult as it requires titration. One time I remember taking one pill, and not liking the way it made me feel, so not taking any more, and still feeling the "weirdness" from it 2-3 days later. and that was only 30 mg Please pass along any experience or advice from this medication?

Colonoscopy came back clear. Doctor thought it was going to be a problem with my sigmoid colon, but it was fine. I have an endoscopy at the same time and they found a small ulcer that I have been treating. Thought maybe the med I was taking for that was encouraging the constipation, but even after stopping it, it continued.
I was on it for awhile and it caused me a lot of weight gain which I am still struggling to get rid of even years later. It is hard to get off of it without slowly tapering off, which I struggled with the first time I tried. A lot of pain and weirdness over what I was already feeling, but I wanted off of it so I prayed for help and when I tried again, I was able to get off of it!
Thank you for your input!
I am taking Vymbalta, for pain. I also have depression, so it'd a two-fer. It is helpful, but doesn't take Carr of all pain. It turns the pain volume down. Moderate or severe pain will require more meds.
When you say it caused weight gain…does it cause it as a chemical thing or does it make you hungrier and you gain weight from eating more calories?
Yes, my doctor has me on this!
60 ml now. Started at 30ml. Worked for 9 mo. Then needed adjustments. I'm still foggy minded
My husband is taking gabapentin for nerve pain. It does help
Be happy that you're not on it. The withdrawal from this medication can be horrific. That's one thing the doctors don't share with you
Stay away from it. I had a horrible experience while withdrawing from it even though I carefully tapered down. I went so far as to open the capsules and take out a measured amount of the small pills inside and then put the capsule together agin. Horribe experience. I'm on Lyrica now for pain and it's working very well.
