← Return to Diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Tail Cancer: No Symptoms Yet

My husband had no symptoms from his cancer. He actually went to the urgent care regarding back pain that would not go away with PT. Turned out to be tumors in the bones along his spine. He's 69, was in great shape from hiking, skiing, whitewater kayaking and just assumed he had done some damage to his back when recreating. Never in a million years would we have thought he had cancer. It's been a year now since finding the bone tumors. First diagnosis (and also the second opinion through Cleveland Clinic) were wrong... treated him for lung cancer which of course didn't help at all, and delayed his proper treatment for pancreatic cancer by months. The new oncologist immediately ordered a CA19-9 blood test which verified with extremely high numbers that the cancer originated in the pancreas. The folfirinox regimen has been rough. But I'm hopeful from reading about others' journeys on this forum that things will improve.
