has anyone had experience taking Xarelto with ckd?

@hump068 Several years ago, I had a DVT and my PCP put me on Xarelto for a short period of time as this is a blood thinner, and for me, this was absolutely necessary to avoid clotting. Dosage will play an important part so checking with your physician and following up with labs are quite important. I was only on the medication for 3 months. Bleeding is a risk so there may be a lower dose or another medication that may be more suitable as well. Your cardiologist can guide you with this. Afib can be severe or moderate, and depending upon that severity, your cardiologist will discuss which blood thinner medication will work well for you for the long term as those with CKD can be affected. If you have a history of high blood pressure or ulcers, bleeding can be a risk factor. Personally, I had no issues after 3 months.

Thanks for your reply. We had not discussed if my Afib is severe or moderate.
