@runner12, each of the medications have known side effects. However, if they are a problem for you - that is another story! I had some side effects, tired, some nausea, some metallic taste on the side of my tongue after injection for an hour, a small headache, some bone ache, and the tummy expansion. Each thing subsided after a few days. I titrated up (2, 4, 6, 8 clicks) and each time I had to adjust but now I seem to be just fine. I also discussed stopping for the months I have to travel in the fall with a physically demanding schedule. In the first month I felt a little untethered, kinda floating, but that has all subsided. I am extremely onboard with this because I think it is targeting my areas of need. I've actually suffered what I think of as bone pain for 25 years in my spine, and it seems to be lessening just a little! The places where I've had bone issues were a bit painful so I figured the medicine was targeting and benefiting areas in need. All around me friends and family are falling and fracturing stuff so I want to keep my independence and not have fractures. My neck (C5) fell apart in the surgeon's hand last summer during surgery. They had no clue because my DEXA scans are so good!
I am on state aid for medical, and Medicare age and have military insurance coverage from my disabled ex husband. so the costs are covered. You should investigate financial support if you need. The pharmaceutical companies always permit applications for financial aid. You should try that. Make a case for your need. I was very lucky to have been on the Tymlos and had my wisdom tooth break over the weekend, and the Tymlos did not interfere with getting the dental work. My regular doctor was ready to pull me off but I said no. (I complain a lot! 😉 I'm glad I stuck with it. You can always change. I notice a lot of people do. So don't be afraid to read, make a decision and go with one, and if you are not good after 3 months change to another working with your doctor. Find a doctor who has experience and knowledge with these medicines. That will be most helpful!
Good luck!
