I enjoy all types of music, classical, country, rock, some rap, but the groups that I have come to enjoy are the Acapella groups Pentatonix and Home Free. They have no instruments and yet have amazing stage presence and quality.
They perform other artists songs, sometimes collaborating with them to raise the song to a new level.
yes, he is wonderful. Must be in his mid-80s by now.
A friend of mine was college roommates with a cello player, from their circle.
In addition to the Paul Winter Consort, there was a group that split off from them, called "Oregon" (a lot of them went to the University of Oregon, in Eugene, growing up).
I included a link to one of their songs.
I know Paul Winter used to do concerts at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC. Probably around the holidays.
Massively, massively talented musician.
Was trying to come up with some more ideas for you. Not many quite like Paul Winter.
There is Yasmin Levy, a Sephardic Israeli singer (with amazing pipes)...
Azam Ali is wonderful. Her album Portals of Grace is very nice. She sings a bunch of medieval melodies. Haunting, beautiful
Well, you know, there is Pat Metheny, he's done some wonderful stuff. Married? Play this for your wife:
Pat Metheny - Beatles Song "And I Love Her"
Carlos Santana has done some very beautiful, very mellow songs. Moonflower and Aquamarine are two.
Momma was a coloratura. I still love opera.
here's Pavarotti doing Ave Maria, right in the heart of his career, when he was at the height of his voice. As a kid, I actually saw this...mom practicing and the crystal started to shatter from her voice. We had to wrap the surviving crystal in linen napkins and put away in a drawer!!! The walls used to vibrate!!
Luciano Pavarotti - Ave Maria, Notre Dame Cathedral, Montreal 1978
my mom used to sing the Ave Maria (I forget if it was the Schubert?) at the local churches for weddings...
Thank you. All great stuff and you really know your music. I was fortunate enough to see
Andre Bocelli last December at Madison Square Garden. At the concert they had a tribute to Luciano Pavarotti. What a voice.
Joni Mitchell, Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker, Don Alias
Goodbye Pork Pie Hat - basically a jazz-rock fusion piece...

Natalie Merchant - NPR Tiny Desk Concert

I used to book bands. So I have sympathy for the band guys who get left behind, when the lead singer leaves. But, Natalie's "Maniacs" pals were absolutely not in her league. Pretty much had to leave them behind. Amazing voice. Wonderful.
yes, this is just good therapy. Led can do that to you.
When I had surgery and was dealing with pain I listened to Bob Dylan . I don't know why it worked, but I'm thinking another part of the brain is activated, who knows. But it was so helpful.
I also found Music for Healing on You Tube and that was helpful before sleep.
I am doing very well. Failed valve surgery turned into a referral to Mayo-Phoenix where I qualified for and received a heart transplant on 12/30/2019. Ever grateful to my donor and team at Mayo.
Best always,
s!

These are some of my favorite songs. Praising the Lord! It is soothing to my soul and it makes the pain, the worry, the anxiety, and the stress of this all go away for a while. Praise be to the Lord our God Jesus Christ! God Bless all you beautiful people that are going through these difficult times and dealing with these diseases. Stay Strong! 🙏 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9sE5kEnitqE&list=RDdVz6yimuTgU&index=14&pp=8AUB

Just finished listening to Natalie Merchant. What a beautiful voice. I am happy she is still performing. Made my morning. Thanks

What an amazing gift.
Matheny made me cry.
Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song.
Thanks!
I'm a huge fan of the entire Mime Opera genre.
Especially enjoy the earlier Marcel Marceau arias.
There was a conspiracy of silence against him, you know.
Then he decided to join it.
(I saw Marvel Marceau perform; quite remarkable. Also, he has the distinction of speaking the only line in Mel Brooks' "Silent Movie".)

I also enjoy spiritual music, religious music, helps me enormously.
I am a huge fan of Patsy Cline.
Here she is doing some Gospel Songs:
