@adr

Thank you for introducing me to this artist! I love the sound, I can feel the music inside of me.

I googled the artist and it seems he is playing with Chuck Lamb in Saratoga
Springs on August 23rd and 24th at Caffe Lena. I may just have to treat myself.

What a wonderful discovery!!

yes, he is wonderful. Must be in his mid-80s by now.

A friend of mine was college roommates with a cello player, from their circle.

In addition to the Paul Winter Consort, there was a group that split off from them, called "Oregon" (a lot of them went to the University of Oregon, in Eugene, growing up).

I included a link to one of their songs.

I know Paul Winter used to do concerts at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC. Probably around the holidays.

Massively, massively talented musician.

Was trying to come up with some more ideas for you. Not many quite like Paul Winter.

There is Yasmin Levy, a Sephardic Israeli singer (with amazing pipes)...

Azam Ali is wonderful. Her album Portals of Grace is very nice. She sings a bunch of medieval melodies. Haunting, beautiful

Well, you know, there is Pat Metheny, he's done some wonderful stuff. Married? Play this for your wife:

Pat Metheny - Beatles Song "And I Love Her"

Carlos Santana has done some very beautiful, very mellow songs. Moonflower and Aquamarine are two.

Momma was a coloratura. I still love opera.

here's Pavarotti doing Ave Maria, right in the heart of his career, when he was at the height of his voice. As a kid, I actually saw this...mom practicing and the crystal started to shatter from her voice. We had to wrap the surviving crystal in linen napkins and put away in a drawer!!! The walls used to vibrate!!

Luciano Pavarotti - Ave Maria, Notre Dame Cathedral, Montreal 1978

my mom used to sing the Ave Maria (I forget if it was the Schubert?) at the local churches for weddings...

Anyway, a few ideas...
