Post-TKR Piriformis Syndrome - Cortisone Shot?
I had a TKR 22 months ago....I have issues already with my piriformis muscle and lower back and recently had a cortisone injection in my bursa and piriformis muscle. Still having some cortisone flare and they don't want me exercising for a few days and my knee is already getting stiff and sore. I ride a recumbent bike 3-4 miles a day along with some other exercises to keep my knee flexible as it still gets really sore and stiff. To be honest I felt better before the surgery as far as the knee goes and not have this on top. Anyone else have issue with this. My hips have some arthritis as well. Anyone else have this issue?

Try those massage guns get one on Amazon. Loosens tight muscles. Also buy cbd cream really helps with pain
I actually did try one of those guns I already have. Recently got a back/neck massager and returned it. My back hurt so bad the next ay from it and it was pretty rough on my back.
I am ten weeks out from TKR.
My hip ‘blew up’ form constant PT. I have had past glute/periformis inflammation.
Friday I just had a dry needling session from my PT.
The hip is quieting down! But of course my PT is also conducting manual hand release sessions when we meet too.
I had a cortisone shot about 2 weeks ago for a muscle in my lower back I have scoliosis and degenerative disc in my lower back this cortisone shot caused me to have a very bad migraine for a day and I could not function for the next two days if you have high blood pressure do not take this shot I do not have blood pressure but still had effects from it I was wanting her to okay me for acupuncture which I have no effects from that and it helps with my lower back issue
Since posting I actually did have a cortisone shot in the piriformis muscle which greatly helped. No other issues except really sore for a few days I do have high blood pressure however I'm on the lowest dose pill and it is controlled. I have always been told if it is controlled even with medication you don't need to worry. they have never given me a migraine....had lot of those shots prior to my knee replacement. I hope you get relief soon. I've never had them in a muscle prior, only in the knee joint.
