How ironic. I am seeing my hormone doctor who put me on the Tymlos in 45 minutes and I put down on my list of questions if HRT would be a good idea! I was on it (bioidenticals from 47 - 58. Now I am 67. It would seem to make so much sense. Crazy irony that I just spied this question in the daily journal email!!! Like it was meant to be. (I did last week start eating soy tofu... figure it has phyto estrogens and it couldn't hurt!

I have been on bioidentical hormones for 20 years. I am 67 years old. I’ve written on this site before and maybe my story can give you more clarity. I am not on any medicine because I went on a to El for a month and got severely sick. I was using the bioidentical creams. My first doctor was Dr. Erika Schwartz out of New York. She is a top specialist on this topic. I just started on the pellet Testosterone estradiol, and a pill form of compounded bioidentical progesterone. So far I feel great I have to say I have much more energy and feel generally better. I am really curious to see my next scan in February and if the pellet therapy will have made a difference, I’m still considered osteoporosis. I am willing to take the chance with the bio identical before I do synthetic drugs again. If you do see a hormone specialist, make sure they have a lot of experience with bio identical hormones. They have been around for years many of the regular OB/GYN’s are now using them. When I first started with this whole bioidentical journey, I was considered way out there. Your hormone blood levels must be monitored. Hope this helps a bit.
