Possibly GABAPENTIN TABLETS could help relieve some of the discomfort from SHINGLES. It is sometimes recommended by doctors for nerve pain from shingles. Side effects are not bad for a medication. Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue. Most of us could handle so little side effects. I wish you luck and most of all some relief and comfort from this terrible culprit lying dormant from CHICKENPOX that attacks our bodies. I was feeling a lot of stress when it flared up in me. Above my left eye. Very dangerous I could have gone blind. Regards, Boomerang12

I've taken gabapentin for post-herpetic neuralgia for 13 years with no side effects. My shingles were around my eye/forehead/scalp. I also have a prescribed cream that contains gabapentin, lidocaine + other drugs. I use the cream around my eye to help with itching. The cream is a compound prescription from a pain specialist.
