Hello, I’m in SW Ontario. I was diagnosed 4 1/2 years ago while living in North Carolina and was originally treated at Duke Cancer Centre in Durham with an upper left lobectomy followed by four rounds of chemotherapy, stage 2b. I have multifocal lung cancer, which means I have several nodules in my lungs and each are their own primary, no metastases or lymph node involvement. Four months ago I had a second surgery, which was done at Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton Ontario. Robotic upper and lower right segmentectomy. No further treatment other than the extensive naturopathic treatments that I do. Both surgery experiences were positive and I have no complaints about my care before or after in either location. I was able to request, through my Respirologist, robotic surgery, which my local Cancer Centre did not have and he referred me to Hamilton. This recent surgery has left me with a cough, which I hope will resolve, and a definite change in lung function although it doesn’t hold me back too much. I’m a 64 year-old grandmother and as long as I can do a little travel, gardening, enjoy my kids and grandkids and go for good brisk walks I’m happy. I wish you well in your recovery.
