I’m in Montreal and had an upper left robotic lobectomy in April. I had a brilliant surgeon (surgery took only 45 minutes plus 45 minutes to set up the robot). However, after-care was virtually non-existent, but I read widely, so knew what exercises to do etc. I will have annual CT scans.

I am now walking 5 km (3 miles) a day and back in the gym working out with weights at close to my previous level. However, when I do ab exercises, it feels as if I pulled a stomach muscle. I do get a bit breathless walking up hills.

I have an irritating cough, which my doctor said is just the lung healing. How long should this last?

I am pretty sure that I broke a rib during or soon after surgery, but it did not show on an X-ray and I didn’t want a CT scan. It looks like a rib is sticking out a bit on my left side. Anyway, there is no treatment for a broken rib and I am no longer in pain.

I am 76 years old. My cancer was adenocarcinoma Stage Ib.
