I'm trying to select a surgeon and finding it to be complicated.
Has anyone in this forum had negative (or positive) experiences at the Jacksonville Mayo Clinic for RALP? I've interviewed several surgeons at multiple facilities so far and found the process to be frustrating. The best surgeons are booked up for 4 to 6 months. The young surgeons are eager to sell their services, but no thanks. I'm considering the Jacksonville Mayo location at this point. The surgeon I'm looking at (Dr. Pak) seems to be a high volume guy, but it's hard to really know much about him and this is a very tough decision for me. I know this will be life changing and want to be sure I make the best decision I can.

I had RALP at Mayo Jacksonville. It was done by Dr. Ram Pathak. Great results. He's one of the best

Have you already requested an appointment at Mayo Clinic?
Are you set on Jacksonville? My husband had surgery (RARP - Nerve sparing) at Mayo in Arizona on June 5th. We are actually packing up to leave for home (Oregon) tomorrow. His surgeon was Dr. Scott Cheney and we have only amazing things to say about him! He is fantastic and my husband’s results are VERY good so far. He has very little (almost no) incontinence and he is healing up so nicely. He had no complications. Dr. Cheney is a fantastic surgeon and he is also very personable and really cares about his patients. We are so pleased and highly recommend him. We had to wait about 6 weeks to be scheduled which seemed reasonable to us. It gave us time to secure housing, etc. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. Good luck with your search!
