Has anyone tried the ArteraAI test?

Posted by jcultra @jcultra, Jul 2 10:35pm

Today I ran across a new test, developed using artificial intelligence, that gives data on chances of metastasis after radiation with and without short term ADT.
Has anyone have experience with the ArteraAI test?
I’ve met with two urologists and one radiation oncologist and no one has mentioned it.

I haven't, but I'll ask my oncologist after my first hdr/brachytherapy.

Interesting use of ai. The collection of images is in the thousands which made me think the accuracy may not be there yet as that seems like a small data set. From their web site, they describe it as using AI, the test leverages a unique algorithm that assesses digital images from the patient’s existing biopsy sample to estimate long-term outcomes.

It almost seems like an alternative to the Decipher or Prolaris test.

Many Urologists downplay ANY of these Biomarker Tests .
They claim the advances in the MRI field with the 2T machine ,with contrast ,has obsoleted
the need for these tests .

@clandeboye1 my urologist did exactly as you said. A guy with 25 years of experience never brought up any testing beyond doing a biopsy. I had two radiation oncologists, after I brought it up, encourage me to get the Decipher test. One more reason why sites like this are so important to our decision making process.

After receiving my Decifer test results, my RO suggested this AI test. It’s fairly new - apparently. I should get my results of the AI soon.
My Decifer test showed low number- .18- but it does NOT take into account my tumors are on the outer perimeter of the prostate and even though contained, there is reporting of ‘rectal invasion’. Petscan showed still contained , but with a Gleason 4+3 in one core I opted for the AI to see the results due to the location of the tumor. I’ll try and follow up after results of the AI test.

Decipher Tests are NOT available in Canada .
I understand your GP can requisition a kit from the USA and forward your sample to the central lab in the USA for testinng -- Quite expensive .

Curious: What is the cost of the test? Does Medicare cover it? What is the turnaround time? Thank you for your input.

@edpenney Medicare covered my Decipher, Prolaris and myrisk genetic tests.

United Health Care AARP Advantage covered ArteraAI 100% cost
