T and PSA levels 6 month post SBRT and 1 month post Orgovyx

Posted by toolbelt @toolbelt, Jul 1 2:17pm

Prior to any treatment my PSA was 7.8 and my testosterone was 517. After 9 days of Orgovyx my testosterone was 27.17

At six months post SBRT and 1 month post Orgovyx my PSA is 0.19 and my testosterone is 482.

Those numbers look pretty good to me.

Thanks Jack. We got this. And as advertised Orgovyx resulted in a quick testosterone recovery.

Feel absolutely great!! The SBRT and Orgovyx was a piece of cake. I had it so much easier than other people with cancer.

I'm just a Prostate cancer rookie. Still learning all the above and took my initial 3 dose ORGOVYX yesterday.

I'm interested in how your Testosterone was measured and what the numbers really signify?
Thanks so much!

The testosterone is a blood test. I would have hope they took yours prior to your Orgovyx therapy to see how well the O is suppressing its production. The normal range of T is 264 - 916. At At 3 and a half months I was down to 14. The testosterone essentially feeds the cancer. If you get radiation like I did, the radiation stops the tumor from dividing (growing) and the Orgovyx takes its "food" source away.

Please read my profile for my posts. Also please exercise .......a lot....and watch calories.

Also please let me know if you have any more questions.

Question for you guys.
When measuring testosterone levels isn’t FREE TESTOSTERONE more significant than total T?

REPLY

I've been on orgovyx for 2 years, just started a treatment "holiday" on June 1.

Had my last blood test just as I stopped taking it for a baseline, Total T is 3 and free is 0.8.

I'm gonna say, yup, the orgovyx certainly did it's job. Looking forward to recovering a little. LOL
fingers crossed!

I started Orgovyx in January. My testosterone was 454 and my PSA was 2.9. In April, the T was less than 7 and the PSA was undetectable. I have labs again on July 9th and see the oncologist. Hoping the numbers still look good.
