Need Help, had an adverse reaction to IV infiltration

Posted by mimsymode @mimsymode, 4 days ago

This happened at a MedSpa where they have those hydration electrolyte formulas that are supposed to help with symptoms like chronic pain. Unfortunately I had a new nurse and she ended up giving me too many add-ons and pushing the liquid too hastily. Had I known this would’ve happened I would’ve politely declined the offer. Five months later and the side effects have been insidious and daunting, not only is my brachial tendon splayed to where there’s a deep groove in my cubital fossa, my nerves are agitated and my whole arm feels bent out of shape and in a perpetual state of painful disharmony. My body already has a lot of inner trauma and these supposedly “safe fluids” have a caustic impact and it literally feels like there’s insect venom radiating in me. It’s had a degenerative effect of my adipose subcutaneous tissue. Do my arm is malformed and malfunctioning. To make matters even worse, this is my dominant right arm. Hand to shoulder is affected and weakened. My shoulder is folding over. Seeing an orthopedic and physical therapist but it’s not going to undo the damage. I must have a mast cell disorder that exacerbates these conditions. I wish there was a way they could’ve syringed the fluid out of me knowing I already had autoimmune/inflammatory health complications.

@mimsymode so sorry this happened to you and I hope it gets better in time. I have to thank you for posting on behalf of people like me, who will be more wary of this kind of treatment.

I had a huge flare of pain on left side with a lidocaine injection in my occipital nerve. Some sort of inflammatory reaction (I have a lupus diagnosis). I felt as you do, that it would stay forever, but after a few months the issue resolved (the issue from the lidocaine injection, not the original issue!).

I wish you better health and again, your post, will help others. I wish I could say more to help you! I hope you can get help from a doctor or other provider.
