Will shoe insoles help alleviate discomfort?
I'm wondering if shoe insoles will help with the discomfort of neuropathy. I'm willing to try anything to stay mobile with less pain

Thanks. I'm waiting up to 6 months here for that. In the mean time I'll try different things to stay active.
Make sure they fit into the shoes u wear. Mine were.made.too thick. Waste of 500
Thanks, That is a lot of money for inserts.
Some people like naboso.com. These are a barefoot style with a texture. There's another thread on here about shoes for neuropathy that talks a lot about the appeal of this style.
The doc for Naboso has for years endorsed orthofeet shoes and inserts, but more recently, has been selling her own unique inserts. Lots of videos and explanations, there and on youtube. Many people with neuropathy comment favorably.
EMG nerve and muscle tests are helpful also. I thought I had neuropathy and this test showed my nerves and muscles are fine; it's arthritis and bone issues related to genetic bunions. My foot ortho surgeon recommended I wear OTC footscientific.com insoles as they have a thin, comfortable cork bottom and ball of foot as well as heel cushioning, with arch support. He fitted me and he chose a style (flat foot because of a falling arch/TTD and a size (smaller)that is different from what I would have selected if I bought them online. Sigh. These in a HOKA Bondi 8 have helped my foot pain a lot.
Tricky isn't it, to figure out if you should be waking up your feet or calming them?
PS. My custom orthotics have been very painful and I have given up on them, even though that foot doc md podiatrist keeps remaking them and had me wearing them in stiff, motion control shoes. Wearing the others that the foot surgeon recommended in a wide cushioned neutral shoe and doing the foot PT he ordered has restored my feet to a state that at least allows me to walk.
I wear Birkenstock Arizona's most of the time. I got the soft insole and am surprised at how much my feet like them. They look so hard, but end up feeling soft and supportive. I occasionally wear Strive Riviera sandals (strive makes insoles also).
Amazon sells an insole with magnets molded into them. Awesome!
Awesome awesome post!!
Terrifically informative!
Thank you Thank you Thanks
This is a great post that we can
do something with..
I really like my Naboso Neuro Insoles. They seem to overwrite the hyper-sensation caused by PN. A pair of custom orthotics which cost me $500 don’t do anything for me.
I will look into into these insoles. I bought a pair of Dr Sholles and they help a little. Thanks
My story is about the same for custom made inserts. Big to-do, measure, mold, create and fail. The best results for me is buy shoes roomy enough to add at least two good insoles and replace as needed. I wear different shoes every day of the week. No real solutions.
I shop til I drop! Best advice yet !!
