Evenity and spinal stenosis

@gently

Evenity could slow the progression of spinal stenosis by maintaining some integrity to the strength of the spine.

There is unresolved controversy over whether osteoporosis advances or slows the progression of disc degeneration.

Evenity unlike slows the development of chondrocytes--cells involved with cartilage production. It reduces the strength even the presence of cartilage that supports the normal configuration of the spine and so could make spinal stenosis progress.

I have some certainty that Evenity would make spinal stenosis more painful.

@debbiejane 55 could you tell a little more about the stenosis. Are the vertebral discs involved.

Tymlos and Forteo increase the production of chondrocytes and restore strength to the spine and might be a better choice of medications.

Do you know what is pressing on the central canal.

my MRI shows "congenital narrowing of spinal canal caliber. Disk bulge combined with facet disease-severe central spinal stenosis on L-3/L-4.
So my concern is : will Evenity make my spinal stenosis worse, even though I have been prescribed Evenity by my Rhematologist.
Thank you ,
