Hello Chris,
I am sure that the side effect of alendronate, " unusual fracture" of thigh bone is mentioned on many medical websites. I was also prescribed this medicine, and it was really hurting to know about this side effect ( along with jaw necrosis). But I think it happens very rarely: 46 fractures in 10000 in 10 years. One looks at these stats differently when one knows one of the 46. A shorter course for her would have prevented broken bones in 2 legs with the surgeries and insertion of rods.
