Yes, heisenberg, trying to get a doctor appointment is dreadful. I tried to schedule a new local neurologist and was told next March is the earliest appointment. My current neurologist quit and the replacement cannot schedule me until October. Anyone who has children trying to decide on a career, a doctor in any field would benefit us all.

Unfortunately, our current medical situation makes it very difficult for potential doctors to even get into medicine...cost of years of schooling, long hours of being underpaid as a resident. Then, if you want to set up a practice, the cost of a physical address, insurance, scads of paperwork all make it almost impossible. Most promising young doctors end up joining a conglomerate in which they are restricted by tons of rules and regulation, often restricting how long they can see a patient.
I saw a private practice neurologist in our previous state. On my first visit she spent an hour and a half going over everything. An hour and a half. Most neurologists (or any doc) in a group will spend fifteen minutes with you.... tops.
