Has anyone heard of this CIONIC device? Something new again!

A friend shared this with me. It says it is FDA approved. Has anyone heard of it or tried it? Mike

Mike, I did read something about this a year or so ago but did not put a lot of emphasis into any follow up. I have drop foot and I think this device was aimed at improved mobility, perhaps not just those of us with PN. Mentor John often mentions the scientific data to support claims. The fact that this is FDA approved could bring credibility to the product and help in certain situations. Again, might depend on cause of mobility issues. Ed

Hi Mike, I think this is something very similar to the Walkasins but not sure. Their website does have some clinical trials they appear to be signing people up for participation if they qualify. Doesn't look like it's for neuropathy but other conditions that also affect walking (just my observation from quick read of the site). Here is some information on the technology and it's use.

Oops... Google Scholar does show some research articles from 2024 on neuropathy and FES - https://scholar.google.com/scholar?as_ylo=2024&q=Functional+Electrical+Stimulation+(FES)+for+neuropathy&hl=en&as_sdt=0,24
