Trimix injection good or bad idea?
59 years old. prostatectomy just over 3 months ago. Take daily 5mg tadalafil or 100mg sildenafil before intercourse . Successful only 2 times without vac pump. I am considering Trimix injections just not sure when or if I should. I would appreciate some insight from men who have used and when they started. No other treatments for cancer needed. Presently cancer free. 0 psa 2 blood test so far. I am thankful for what I have just want the best I can achieve. Thank you for any shared experiences good or bad.

In general I would say no.
But my last 15 or so were painful most of the time. Last 2 not at all. I have developed scare tissues at only 3 months in so started medication 3 times a day and 3 months later it is no worse. So doctor said stay the course. I am currently not injecting now do to wife had sling surgery . (She is very happy with results). I am looking forward to the shot again as i find it very satisfying and well worth it. My pain may have been from scare tissue . Doctor said move injection site a little. I am happy to keep going with injections, natural erections are back just prefer injection due to greater satisfaction. Hope this helps. I believe most men can say no to pain with injections but I am one of the sometimes.
In general, the needle is the size of a diabetic insulin syringe and nerves are not particularly sensitive in the penis, but then there's the whole psychological issue of poking the penis and also the comfort with injections in general, particularly self-administered. As a mental health professional, I can work at desensitization and persevere, but discomfort with the injection process remains the biggest reason people don't use trimix or stop using it. I am "happy of myself" (google youtube video of boy learning to ride bike) that I have persevered for over two years now.
To avoid scar tissue, it is important to vary the injection site. I do this systematically and have avoided scar tissue so far as I know. I use a clock grid (9,10,11,1,2,3) and a finger length from the base (two fingers or three fingers) and follow a chart....
It feels like just a tiny prick (sorry for the pun) and the injection takes a few seconds. The thought of it is far worse than the reality.
@waldipup
When I was first told of Tri-mix, I said there's no way I'm going to inject a needle into my penis. I was adamant it would never happen. Like the gentleman above said “The thought of it is far worse than the reality.”
The injections are not painful at all in my opinion. I don't like to use the auto-injector.
Take care,
Jake
Not really. I just find it awkward and uncomfortable to stick it there.
never been a fan of needles . MANY men find the TriMix Gel to be excellent ! Its pricey ( so is TriMix) and insurers usually will not pay ( at least in Canada as their seems to be a war on men here ) ...However I would give TriMix Gel a chance as well. You must put the gel slightly into the eurethra, then have the tip of your penis up for a few minutes so gel does not evacuate out . Some of my friends cant do the needle and the gel works great for them !
Decrease the dosage otherwise there's simply too much engorgement standing in the way.
Yes, I'll have to play around with the dosage. Thanks for the advice.
First post for me, you all are champs! Been on PCa active surveillance for almost 4 years and recent MRI show a discrete nodule. MRI guided biopsy on July 10th, so thinking ahead needless to say. Almost 60 yrs young and very fit in all respects. For some time have been using 20-25 mg Sildenafil and works very well. Concerned if I need treatment, I might get more severe ED and been researching injections/implants. Seems for the majority (if not vast majority) guys and couples are quite satisfied with both - obviously gives me hope if pills don't work anymore. . . @jasonfarmer (and others) you're experience and insights have been great, much appreciated. I find it interesting you're still using injections even though you are having natural erections. Also, to @jasonfarner and the Board, does stimulation matter at all in getting and keeping the erection with Trimix. On the pill, it's all about the stimulation for me/us, but with that, erections are very strong. Seems to me with Trimix it's the drug gives you the erection stimulation or not then it's about having the experience while its active and stimulation is not a big factor, though not sure. Would appreciate any helpful feedback, with much thanks and blessings to all!!!
Kmjstrong123 yes erection happen without stimulation with Trimix. In 5 minutes now for me vs 10 minutes when I started. And yes stimulation can make 85% go to 100% with injection. I still use injections because a good 90 minute erection (injection) vs it is hard enough now but what about in 5 minutes (pills only) also not as strong. As my erections get better I suspect I will use injection less but still find injections to be most satisfying at this point of recovery from surgery. Wish you best hope this helps answer some of your questions.
