I am sorry you are sad about this! I empathize! but I have to be honest and tell you I laughed out loud when I read your trainer's response! What's your age? (middle or geriatric) are you post menopause and how long? I used to drink a lot of cocktails and enjoy my wine accompaniment with my cooking and I had a 22" waist and after childbirth (31) it probably went to 24" Now it is 34"! I am a little person so I struggle. My bras are 34" back! fortunately I am a DD so there is a difference but gravity makes it look pretty bad. haha. I am 67. I stopped injecting into my tummy because I didn't know what else. And I started my LCarnitine (which is a metabolizer) and do arm/waist stretching in the morning and it REALLY is helping after 1 week! My love handles are going down and look much better so I feel better about myself.
Your trainer is probably a little correct - why? because when we are young our triglycerides (which is what alcohol is) metabolize as a carb (and are utilized for energy). When we are older it metabolizes like a fat. (and is stored). So maybe that was the perspective the trainer had? You should ask! I'd be curious to know! I just thought of that! (I had nutritional chemistry at SDSU 40 years ago). Don't be depressed if you can help it... get out and get those endorphins stimulated. You always have us. we'll love you midriff and all!

Thanks for your insight. Reading these notes is helpful, but a little depressing especially to people who care about staying healthy and strong. I am 70 and been challenging myself to keep moving. None of that has changed, but now with the rolls around my belly, I have decided to invest in SPANX.!! Never have I felt so rolly polly as now. It doesn't sound like quitting Tymlos is the way to go either. Does anyone have any knowledge of what happens to the belly fat once you are off of the drug? That would be good to know. Does the fat go away?
