Anyone try bioidentical hormones to combat/treat osteoporosis?

I'm giving it some thought. After a bad experience with Alendronate, I'm very hesitant to start with Prolia.

I have a friend who has taken these bioidentical for many many years, but she doesn’t get dexa scan so I have no idea if they work. She’s 79 and walks very well and no fractures

I am just beginning a protocol of bioidenticals…an estradiol patch, testosterone and progesterone. I just completed 2 years on Tymlos and I had great gains. My rheumatologist wants me on Reclast but my cardiologist suggested bioidenticals to assist with my lack of hormones and to potentially hold my bone improvements. I don’t want to be on an osteo med that is infused in my body for a year that I cannot stop if there are side effects. So I’m taking this route for now. I pray I will experience good results. I am 72.

I just started on bio identical hormones two weeks ago. Hoping to feel better and prevent bone loss and generally get better sleep and less trips to the bathroom at night. I am told it will take a month to feel changes. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻. Just turned 67!

ddonnagirl1 Thanks for sharing your bhrt experience. I am also 67 and have an appointment next week with the naturopath who specializes in BHRT, so your experience is very encouraging and supportive of my decision. May I ask what your T scores are and if you take or have taken any OP medication so far?

T scores osteopenia range. I took Fosomax for 1 year and went from off them. Had a D level test and I was told toxically high so stopped. I do Pilates 4 times a week and try to walk 2x a week.
