So I posted that after checking in and now I am at the end of my first visit here. First, I can't believe I ever doubted Mayo Clinic. It was absolutely amazing and I will do anything to continue here. That said, I am still looking for my forever hotel. Hilton didn't end up being so bad. Yes, the hallways/room smelled. They are just a dated but I will say it was extremely clean. It was perfectly fine, just not great. The pluses are great fitness center, pool with hot tub, location to Mayo Clinic, and the most amazing breakfast place - Benedicts. I had to stay an extra night and Hilton was full. I moved over to Hyatt house and don't recommend it. Just very "basic" and fine for one night but I would not want to stay here long term. I need to return in a month and I plan on booking The Berkman. Unfortunately found it too late but I think it may be what you are looking for. A spacious apartment with kitchen & outdoor pool looks really really nice. I also would consider Residence Inn (great location). I will not stay at Kahler or the Marriott. Just too old for me.

I am glad you had a successful appointment at Mayo. Sorry you were disappointed in hotels. Hopefully your next stay at Berkmann will be more enjoyable.

For those reading comments and wondering about the Berkman, it is a combination of apartments and short term rentals located across street from main entrance of St Mary's on 14th Ave SW.

Did you tour the Berkmann? or is your decision based on web site and recommendations?
