@gently I broke both ankles my leg and my heels crushed I had to screws removed that's like 40 years and I have no pain in my ankles. I broke my hip into places and had plates put in they're still there and it hurts
@gently I agree, the screws could be the source of your ankle pain. They could je pressing against the muscle ( I'm guessing) and if they're removed, it may take the pressure and pain off the area of your ankle. I'd definitely have your Orthopedic surgeon do a MRI or a CT scan to see how your ankles healing and it'll tell the doctor whether or not, the rod and screws may need to come out.

No, I have not. I believe I will at some point, although I dread another surgery and convalescent time, of not being able to walk for a while again. Thank you for your thoughts. 🙂
