I waited three weeks for the results of the CT scan that found the tumor on my right kidney. The urologist scheduled me for a biopsy, which was just to check to see if the kidney alone was affected. He placed a stent and I had surgery again two weeks later to remove the stent, which widened the ureter enough to get the device for the laparoscopy device to reach the kidney. Having determined the kidney was fine, the tumor was on the outside and nothing else was affected he determined to remove the kidney. I was scheduled for the nephrectomy two and a half months later. I think the timing mainly depends on the individual urologist's workload and how serious he/she considers the situation. If you're oncologist is coordinating with the urologist, you seem to be in good hands. God be with you.
