@jcf58

I was diagnosed in April and was hoping for HIFU. I was ineligible due to the single lesion on the anterior side (can’t get enough energy to that area). I saw TULSA when researching Mayo and it looked like a great option. I am scheduled for July in Rochester. Really like the early data and I am very confident in the rigorous follow up plan.

I'm also going to Rochester. I want to know if I'm a candidate for Focal Therapy. My lesion is anterior so TULSA or cryo may be my likely options. Who is the urologist you are seeing at Rochester please?

Here is my post on Tulsa Pro

Dr Woodrum, Mayo interventional radiology, I believe is the Mayo doc doing it now at Mayo starting this year 2024. When I had Tulsa they didn't yet have the machine. See link below and go to Mayo for more on Dr Woodrum.

If wondering about Tulsa Pro from a science point of view, here is a basic Tulsa science overview article

Conclusions:
“As an alternative to conventional treatments, TULSA is safe and effective for prostate tissue ablation in men with primary PCa. There is also evidence that TULSA delivers effective relief of urinary symptoms while treating PCa in a single, low-morbidity procedure. The likelihood of freedom from additional treatment or potency preservation is associated with the planned ablation fraction.”

Something new and an alternative to Tulsa, can't speak myself to it, just to Tulsa and my info is above. But it is something to read on if you are studying what to do.

Have not even talked to urologist there. Just radiation oncologist David Woodrum. There will be a urologist at treatment.
