Has anyone used EMTT or PEMF therapy for muscles, tendons ?
I have about given up on moderm medicine and I have had too many doctors cause damage. I am looking for alternatives besides the suggestion of injections all of the time

@lavanda7 mentioned having EMTT treatment for osteoarthritis in another discussion here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/818687/. There are quite a few other discussions and member comments on PEMF therapy. Here is a link to the search results, if you want to scan through them while you wait for other members to respond - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/discussions/?search=PEMF.
Thanks but this is not for osteoarthritis
@rgg Since you have mentioned in other posts that you are familiar with medical terms, and do research using PubMed (and probably other sources) I thought maybe you would like to take a "deep dive" into the ongoing research. In the article below, a group who reviewed these emerging therapies a number of years ago, and concluded that more research was needed, report on the use of pulsed magnetic field therapy for a number of uses, including fracture healing, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.

This article offers two great features - it is not sponsored by anyone with a financial interest in the therapy, and it includes links to the underlying studies so you can dig as deeply as you wish.
I thought it was interesting that there are some really solidly backed uses (like fracture healing) - it was used on my daughter to help healing several severe fractures in her wrist, where fragmented bones were not mending after many months. On the other hand, the long-term benefits for osteoporosis were less clear - more study is still needed.
If I were to seek such treatment, I would probably try to find a trained practitioner, maybe in a rehab setting. This way, I could find out if it works, and the right settings and lengths of treatments for me. Then I would consider investing in my own equipment.
Rgg,
I tore my rotator cuff a couple of years ago. I went to the doctor who gave me a cortisone shot. Pain relief lasted only 2 weeks. I was also prescribed physical therapy which only worsened the pain. I was using ice packs am and pm in order to manage pain. I read about PEMF,(ONDAMED machine) and thought I would try it. I was desperate for pain relief. After 2, 1 hour treatments, I had a significant reduction in pain. I could not believe it. I was able to engage in another round of pt which worked on my shoulder mobility. It is not a cheap treatment, and is not covered by insurance. Please research this topic before you decide that it's appropriate for your condition. Best wishes for good health.
Thanks !
I have used shockwave for muscle and tendon issues. PEMF does nothing for me
